THE DEM VIEW OF HILLARY'S EMAIL PROBLEM - From a plugged-in Democratic operative in D.C.: "This Hillary email issue is a real problem, and a likely harbinger of future stress points as she emerges from private life and begins her presidential campaign. Most importantly, it goes to a sense of 'Clinton privilege' that could be her Achilles heel.

"It also reminds people that she hasn't run a successful campaign since 2006, and raises the question of whether she is rusty and may not be fully ready for a brutal campaign based on 2016 dynamics. ... Many Dems are shaking their heads today at this self-inflicted wound. The question is ... how many more issues like this are lurking in the background?"

THE REPUBLICAN VIEW - From a source aligned with a current 2016 Republican, who cited a few lines for Josh Gerstein's piece that went up last night: "Three most interesting paragraphs from the POLITICO article last night. This all goes in the unforced error lane. And there are a bunch of reporters right now who are about to learn that nothing the Clintons say at first can be taken at face value:

"Clinton's personal aide, Huma Abedin, and her communications adviser, Philippe Reines, regularly used unofficial email accounts for work-related email, former colleagues said. ... Former officials said Clinton used a State Department-issued Blackberry during her tenure, but they could not rule out the possibility she may have used other devices.

"Harf declined to answer questions about the security of the account Clinton used or about whether any encryption was in place. 'We have no indication that the email was compromised, the account was compromised or hacked in any way,' she said."
