Since 2011, the Obama administration has been expressing its renewed commitment
to the Asia-Pacific region as a focal point of U.S. foreign policy. While U.S. allies
and partners in the region, including Japan, welcomed this "U.S. rebalance to Asia",
many analysts remain skeptical over the administration's ability and willingness
to follow through on this promise.

To what extent has the United States implemented the Asia rebalance militarily,
economically and diplomatically? Sasakawa USA has invited Dr. Satoru Mori, a leader
among Japan's new generation of scholars and a former career diplomat, to examine
the U.S. Asia rebalance and provide a Japanese assessment of the Obama administration's
engagement in Asia. Please join us for a discussion with Dr. Mori.

*Lunch will be provided.

**The discussion is off-the-record. Seating will be allocated on a first-come, first-served
basis.
