We all have stories about Tom Carper. He meets you once and remembers you years later, asking about your family and touching base about your concerns. He visits our schools and talks with students. He hosts job fairs for veterans and grant workshops for non-profits. He visits entrepreneurs with growing businesses and knocks on doors with legislators and councilmembers around the state.

As his teammate on Delaware's federal delegation, I can tell you he is a hard man to keep up with because he is everywhere. When he isn't at a meeting or an event, he is on the phone talking with constituents who have reached out about problems, with community leaders about challenges they face and with folks at the agencies that can help.

Tom Carper is driven, focused and tireless. He cares about Delaware and Delawareans more than almost any person I know, and he is focused always on how he can make things better for Delaware families. He takes that focus to Washington, fighting for clean air and water, for protecting and improving health care and against the Trump administration's extreme agenda.

On Thursday, Sept. 6, Democrats have a choice to make about who can best take the fight to Washington. I know that person is Tom Carper.
