2011 GREAT PROSTATE CANCER CHALLENGE 5K RUN AND 1 MILE FUN WALK! Sunday, Sept. 25, 8:30 a.m. Johnny Unitas Stadium, Towson University Join us to raise funds for prostate cancer research, awareness, and screenings! Upcoming Great Prostate Cancer Challenge Events As a valued participant in prior Great Prostate Cancer Challenge (GPCC) events, we thank you for your support and participation. The GPCC is hosting some fun and exciting events over the next couple of months and we want you to be a part of the excitement! We hope you will support us by attending, donating or helping us spread the word about these GPCC fundraisers. Saturday, July 16th - Jammin 4 Prostate Cancer Join the GPCC at Looney's Pub North in Bel Air, MD to jam for prostate cancer from Noon to 8 p.m. Join five of the area's hottest bands: Stolen Identity - Danceable rock with a soulful flavor. The VIPS Band - Songs from the 70s and 80s along with h ip hop and RB. The Fifth Level - Party dance band guaranteed to get listeners dancing and grooving. Relicoustic - A modern/alternative rock band. The New Romance - Headline Performer. Playing 80s and classic alternative. In addition to all-day musical performances, enjoy food and beverage specials, a silent auction, and a special appearance by DJ Jon Boesche from MIX106.5. $15 Donation at the Door. Kids are FREE with paying adult. Sunday, September 25th Great Prostate Cancer Challenge 5K/1 Mile Fun Walk Join the GPCC at Towson University Johnny Unitas Stadium. First 1,500 registrants receive a free long-sleeve technical t-shirt. Top overall runner receives the crystal Founder's Cup and $375. Top three male and female runners each receive $375, $250 and $125 respectively. Performance medals are also given to top performers in each age group. Warm-up by Brick Bodies. Post-race activities include the Ravens cheerleaders, vendors, free food and bev erages, musical entertainment and children's activities including face painting, a moon bounce and costumed characters. Students are eligible to receive community service hours with pre-approval from school's Service Learning Coordinator. Registration: 6 to 8 a.m. Race Time: 8:30 a.m. $30 Pre-Race Registration, $35 Race Day. Register by logging on to www.gpccbaltimore.com. Monday, October 17th Great Prostate Cancer Challenge Baltimore Golf Classic Join the GPCC at Towson Golf and Cou ntry Club in Phoenix, Maryland for a day of golf, dining and camaraderie featuring LPGA professionals and local Baltimore celebrities. The event includes a driving range clinic with LPGA pros, lunch, 18 holes of golf in a scramble format, dinner with one-hour open bar, prizes and commemorative tee gifts,. The day begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch and driving range clinic, shotgun start at 1 p.m. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Foursomes are $2,000 and individual players $500. Since 2007, GPCC-Baltimore has raised more than $850,000 for prostate cancer research, awareness and screenings. Part of these funds has been used to provide more than 3,500 free screenings to men in need in the Baltimore area.
