Join our host Hawaii Attorney General David Louie for the 10th Annual
Pre-CWAG Reception and Dinner at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows,
68-1400 Mauna Lani Drive, Kohala Coast, Island of Hawaii from 6:00 PM – 9:00
PM on Saturday, July 9, 2011. Our cocktail reception will begin at 6:00 PM
and a buffet dinner will be served at 7:00 PM. Registration for this is
closed. Please note that our event requires a separate registration from the
CWAG conference.

We expect a great turn out for the evening with at least 12 Attorneys
General and 200 guests for this casual family-friendly event.

Because the focus of this trip is the CWAG Annual Meeting, DAGA is not

_2011 DAGA Fall Policy Conference_

Save the date for the 2011 DAGA Fall Policy Conference at the Sonoma
Fairmont Mission Inn & Spa in Sonoma California on Wednesday, September 14
and Thursday, September 15, 2011. Join us in California wine country for 2
days of great conversation and spectacular hospitality.

We are underway planning a great program for you. _Please feel free to hold

to arrive by 5:00 PM Pacific Time on Wednesday, September 14 and remain
through dinner on Thursday, September 15 to participate in all portions of
the conference.
DAGA has negotiated a limited block of rooms for $249 plus tax and fees per
night for Wednesday and Thursday nights only. These rooms are for DAGA
members attending the DAGA Fall Policy Conference only. The Fairmont was
unable to offer DAGA discounted rates for the weekend, so we cannot
guarantee availability or rates past check out on Friday, September 16.
_The room block closes on August 16, 2011, however we cannot guarantee rates
or availability if the room block sells out prior to our cut-off date. _The
Fairmont requires a credit card to make your reservation and has a 72 hour
cancellation policy. If you do not cancel at least 72 hour in advance of
arrival, you will be responsible for one room night. If you must cancel
entirely, DAGA will do its best to resell your room, but if we are unable,
you will be responsible for any fees associated with cancellation. Click

With less than a year to go until the 2012 primary race in Washington State
the open seat contest for Washington Attorney General is now clear.

King County Council Members Bob Ferguson (D) and Reagan Dunn (R) will
square off in the general election next fall in the race to succeed outgoing
Attorney General Rob McKenna (R) who is seeking the GOP nomination for
governor.

2008 attorney general candidate John Ladenburg initially considered a second
bid, but last Wednesday decided to instead pursue a seat on the state’s high
court. With the field set DAGA is more sure than ever that this is the year
to reclaim Washington.

Bob Ferguson has been a member of the King County Council (Seattle area)
since 2003 twice knocking off long time Republican incumbents, in 2003 and
after redistricting in 2005. Ferguson has been recognized by the Aspen
Institute-Rodel Fellowship program as an outstanding young political leader.
He has raised over $100,000 since forming his campaign committee and has
collected a long list of statewide endorsements. During his career as a
King County Council Member Ferguson has dedicated his efforts to improving
public safety, fiscal responsibility and transparency in government. He has
pledged to pull out of the multi-state lawsuit against the federal health
care law, which was a leading topic in the 2010 elections, citing that it is
a drain on funds to protect Washingtonians.

During their tenure together on the King County Council, Bob Ferguson and
Reagan Dunn have been at odds over issues like consumer protection and
public safety. Dunn (R) has often voted against measures to increase funding
and support for police forces and against consumer privacy measures.
