Hello - we would like to welcome you to our home in Malibu. For many of you this might be your first time staying in a vacation home. Others might be veterans to the home-sharing culture. Whatever your experience level - this guide will ensure that you have a great trip to our house.

This document has been prepared with you in mind, so please read it in its entirety. Our goal is to ensure that you can fully enjoy your stay. Nearly every question that you have will be answered below (and a few questions you didn't know you had!)

We have been sharing our home for years. One of the most important lessons that we have learned from the experience is managing expectations. Below, we will explain what we expect from you, and what you can expect from us.

For the most part, we simply expect common sense and respect from you. Our house is situated in a neighborhood, with many long term residents. Given that there are many families and children that live in our vicinity - quiet hours between 10pm and 8am are very strictly enforced. Do not make excessive noise or play loud music between 10pm - 8am. We have a very close relationship with our neighbors and noise complaints will result in termination of your rental.

We do not allow extra guests to sleep at the property unless previously agreed upon when you booked the rental. Our home is 100% smoke free. Smoking in the apartment may result in the forfeiture of some or all of your security deposit.

We have been doing this for a while, we are striving to give you the best experience. From us, you can expect to be provided with a clean house, fresh linens, crisp towels, blankets, basic bathroom necessities and air mattresses if they have been requested. In general everything that is indicated in our listing description.

You will need to bring your own personal toiletries/shampoo/wash cloths. Bring a hair dryer if you need one.

Where to Park:
Please park in front of our single car garage and only our garage. Do not park in front of any other garage or you will be towed. You may also park across from our house on PCH.

How to get inside:
Our address is 20650 Pacific Coast Highway Malibu, CA 90265

Check In Time: 4pm on the day of your arrival.
Check Out is at 10am on the morning of your departure.

Keys
The lockbox code is 0650. The key in the lockbox opens the front gate. (If you don't find a key don't worry we're trying to make the process as easy as possible for our guests)

There is an electronic lock on the front door. The code for the lock on the front door is 7152#

The Lockbox:
Many of our guests have gotten confused with the lockbox, so we will try to explain it as best as possible here. Once you input the code to the lockbox, push the black switch down to the left of the code. the black switch down will unlock the FACE of the lockbox where the keys are stored. The lockbox itself does not remove from the door, only the face opens to reveal the keys. Once your stay is over, please repeat these instructions to put the keys back in the lockbox.

TV
We have a Roku Smart TV linked to our television set. This will allow you to use your own Netflix, Hulu, or HBO account.

Toilets : Please be extra careful when flushing the toilet. The only thing that should go down the toilet is toilet paper. They may be more sensitive than what you are used to. You should err on the side of caution with regards to how much toilet paper you are flushing down. Better to flush more with less toilet paper than to try to flush everything down at once. If you clog the toilet, you are responsible for fixing it. We can provide a plumber if you'd like but you will be responsible for the bill.

Towels: Please never use our towels to wipe up makeup or spills. There will be a $10 charge per stained towel that our cleaning service reports to us. We recommend you purchase makeup wipes from any nearby grocery store to avoid these charges. Please do not flush makeup wipes, simply throw them in the trash cans. This is our personal home, please respect our belongings as if they are your own.

Space Heaters:
Our house has multiple plug-in electric space heaters that we use if it gets cold. The space heaters draw a lot of power and can cause the breaker to short circuit. Please DO NOT plug in multiple space heaters in the same room. Please make sure the the space heaters are plugged into a power strip prior to plugging them into the wall outlet. Please DO NOT plug the space heaters directly into the wall outlets without a power strip or it could cause a short circuit.

The Downstairs Beach:
The beach downstairs may be wet due to high tide. The steps are steep, so we ask that guests use caution when going to the lower level. We do not recommend pets or children going down to the beach level as the conditions can be treacherous.

Hiking Solstice Canyon. This is an easy and family/pet friendly hike located ~5 miles away.

Checkout:
Checkout is anytime before 10am. Our cleaning service has already been scheduled to arrive at 10am. Here is the checkout process :

If you would like a late checkout or early check in, please let us or our assistant know at least 24 hours in advance so we can inform our cleaning service accordingly.

It is very easy for us to schedule you an early check in or late check out if you tell us in advance. It is extremely difficult to schedule a late checkout last minute since the cleaning routes have already been prepared. If you do not have an explicity granted late check out, please vacate the unit at 10am sharp to avoid incurring unnecessary charges.

We'd appreciate receiving our home back in the same state free of dirty dishes, trash, and messes. Our cleaning service will wash all the linens and towels but anything you can do to keep our place extra clean is very much appreciated. Below are examples of how you should NOT leave our home:

Please place the keys back in the lockbox (using code 0648) and scramble the dial. There is a $50 charge for lost keys

Broken Items
If for any reason you break an item during your stay, please let us know. Our property management team inspects the entire house after your departure and we prefer not to be surprised. We appreciate your honesty.
Emergencies/ problems with the unit.
If you have any problems with the unit that prevents you from using it fully and as advertised, please contact us. We ask that you text us between the hours of 10pm and 7am. Please reserve phone calls for emergency situations. If there is a fire or emergency that requires the police, dial 911.
