Pre-CWAG Reception and Dinner at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows,

PM on Saturday, July 9, 2011. We will host a cocktail reception from 6:00 PM

2011 DAGA Fall Policy Conference

and Thursday, September 15, 2011. Join us in California wine country for 2

Planning is well underway for another great program for you. Please feel

DAGA has negotiated a limited block of rooms for $249 plus tax and fees per
night for Wednesday and Thursday nights only. These rooms are for DAGA
members attending the DAGA Fall Policy Conference only. The Fairmont was
unable to offer DAGA discounted rates for the weekend, so we cannot
guarantee availability or rates past check out on Friday, September 16. The
room block closes on August 16, 2011, however we cannot guarantee rates or
availability if the room block sells out prior to our cut-off date. The
Fairmont requires a credit card to make your reservation and has a 72 hour
cancellation policy. If you do not cancel at least 72 hour in advance of
arrival, you will be responsible for one room night. If you must cancel
entirely, DAGA will do its best to resell your room, but if we are unable,
you will be responsible for any fees associated with cancellation. Click

_Candidate Spotlight: Jim Hood – November 2011_

Attorney General Jim Hood has spent every day since his election in 2003
fighting for the citizens of Mississippi.

Through the creation of multiple specialized crime units General Hood has
brought the office of the Attorney General into the 21^st century and
insured that it is capable of fighting the future of crime. General Hood
created the leading Cyber Crimes unit, a place for state, local and federal
officials to investigate internet predators. After Hurricane Katrina General
Hood turned his focus to helping the victims with new consumer protections.
He also prosecuted those who sought to take advantage of the disaster with
price gouging, finance scams and fraud.

General Hood is seeking his third term this November, campaigning on his
strong record and innovative strategies in fighting crime. His Republican
opponent this fall is former Public Safety Commissioner Steve Simpson. An
April Public Policy Poll showed General Hood leading Simpson by 17 points,
but the Mississippi GOP and Governor Barbour are determined and well
financed.
