Quaker Life Committee and Student Government will be presenting queries at the
beginning of Meeting for Worship on the first Thursday of each month.

delighted to announce that Diane Scattergood will be 9th Grade Dean for the
Class of 2018. As many of you know, Diane has been a ninth grade teacher
for thirty years. She has also been working with students entering 9th
grade for some time, as a teacher of a summer English Review class and, more
recently, as co-coordinator of our Summer Transition Program for newly enrolled
ninth grade students. This semester, Diane has taken up more
responsibility for student support even as she continues to work as part of the
College Counseling team for the Class of 2014. The 9<sup>th</sup> Grade
Dean position is a natural extension of the work that she is already
doing and we look forward to a smooth transition. We are deeply
grateful to Gail Krotky, current 9th Grade Dean, for her outstanding service in
this role. Gail has decided to devote her full attention to her equally
extraordinary work in the classroom and on global studies. <br />

have the opportunity to support a great cause – famine relief in the Sahel – and
have lots of fun by participating in Hoops for Hunger on Friday, March 14 from
4:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the Athletic Center. There will be food, music, tables
sponsored by many SFS clubs and a 3-on-3 tournament for students. If you have

hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love and revolution in a time when water
is worth its weight in gold. After the “Stink Years” in a Gotham-like city, a
terrible water shortage, caused by a 20 year drought has led to a
government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public
amenities, regulated by the Urine Good Company (UGC) that profits by charging
admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. What can the citizens do?
When the legislature approves a fee hike, will anyone lead the citizens against
the malevolent UGC? Where is Urinetown? The answers -- come see the show!
