**Just to clarify, this invite is for Wednesday, July 30.**Dear Parents and Students,Please join the Parents of Black Students for our first gathering of the 2014-2015 school year. The meeting is open to all and will focus on providing helpful hints and tips for the upcoming year. We plan to highlight some key strategies and attributes necessary for successfully navigating Sidwell Friends, underscoring what parents can do to encourage these qualities.Date: Wednesday, July 30Time: 7:00-9:00 p.m.Light refreshments will be provided at 6:45 p.m.Location: Sidwell Friends Upper School Dining Room - 3825 Wisconsin Avenue, NWRSVP: Maurice Ross, mbross@verizon.net (please indicate total number in your party and if child care is needed*).Panels – including graduated students and faculty from all three divisions of the school – will discuss how you can support your child’s academic and social development. What’s necessary in a student’s tool kit varies from Lower School to Middle School to Upper School, so there will be an opportunity to break into division-based sessions.Middle and Upper School students are encouraged to attend, as recent graduates will also be participating and will be available to offer direct guidance.
