HEALTH
The Editors:"About 3,000 people die in the U.S. each year for lack of a liver for transplantation. One in six of those lives could be saved with a simple adjustment in the way the 6,000 or so livers from deceased donors are allocated -- to see that the organs more often go to the Americans who need them most."

2016 ELECTIONS
Albert R. Hunt:"Jim Webb could be Hillary Clinton's worst nightmare. The former one-term Virginia senator and Vietnam War veteran is making sounds about running for president as a Democrat."

EUROPEAN ECONOMY
Clive Crook:"Mario Draghi deserves credit for what he did last week. The European Central Bank's president found a way to surprise investors with lower interest rates and announced a plan that looks a lot like quantitative easing -- both good moves. Nonetheless, the ECB is still falling short."

SPORTS
David Kahn:"Football season's already upon us, like a Seahawks safety blitz, which means it's again time for the doomsayers to predict that the National Football League's popularity and TV ratings will eventually wane because of the increasing numbers of concussion-wary parents who won't let their children play youth football. But this argument fails for two reasons."

ISRAELIS/PALESTINIANS
Daniel Gordis:"A long, long time ago, after three Jewish teens were kidnapped and murdered, after an Arab teen was then murdered, but before the rockets and the ground war and the funerals and the 12 cease-fires and the anguish and the destruction -- this was a country overcome by collective guilt and horror, reeling from the pain that there are Jews, too, who murder innocents."

INDIA
Chandrahas Choudhury:"Which Indian institute of higher education enjoys the highest esteem in the world? ... One Indian university has an aura that far exceeds that of any other. And although the school is itself extinct, it continues to embody the virtues traditionally associated with a university education."
