FYI, effective October 1, 2014, we will be renewing our healthcare plan with Care First. There aren’t any significant changes to the coverage except that Vision coverage for the adults in the plan is no longer included. Pediatric Vision is STILL covered under the medical plan but adults are not. If you would like to still be covered for vision it is an extra $10 a month for those insured as individuals and $28 a month for those insured as families.

If you would like the additional vision coverage you can purchase it as an add on. Rather than just pay for it directly, we can pay for it and then have you reimburse us. I have attached a document with the description of the plan. For those who have vision issues, check the providers that are in network - it is only worth it if your eye doctor is in network. I have an out of network eye doctor and I am deciding not to take the plan as it won’t really save anything additional. But I want to give others the option to purchase it separately if they think it is worthwhile to them.

If you are interested in the vision plan please let me know by Noon on Wednesday as that is our renewal deadline.
