Hello Professor Biden,

I have some potentially good news regarding my search for a position within
the administration. As you probably know, Suzy George will officially
replace Brian McKeon as the NSC’s ExecSec/Chief of Staff tomorrow.
Secretary Albright knows Suzy quite well, as they have worked together for
many years, and she recently spoke to Suzy on my behalf. Suzy thinks she
may have a few positions that need to be filled (for which I would be a
good fit), but she will know more within the next two weeks as she settles
in to her new role.

Anyway, I just wanted to update you on this, but I also wanted to see if
you would mind acting as a second reference for me (in addition to
Secretary Albright). I like where I stand right now, but I know that a
vote of confidence from you would really tip the scales in my favor.
