After the great flood life appears to take on some semblance of normalcy. All the fruits of the earth are given to Noah and his family, but in turn, God demands an accounting for human life. This admonition in Genesis rings true in so many ethical and moral issues of old but also in our society and in our world today! Ancient though the Genesis texts may be, they spin the tale of a 21st-century world. We are accountable to God for life, for each other, for our world the dirt, the sea water, the ice caps, the trees, the animals the list goes on. What are we doing and how are we responding to God's demand for accountability? "For in the image of God has man been made. Be fertile, then, and multiply; abound on earth and subdue it." (Genesis 9:1-13)
