Reed’s new driver shaft. Patrick Reed switched to a new driver shaft in Mexico last week, opting for a Fujikura Ventus 6X shaft. The shaft made its debut on the PGA Tour a few weeks ago. It has an extremely stiff top section to reduce spin and create a lower launch angle.

Tiger’s standout shot. Tiger Woods struggled on the greens in Mexico, but he added another shot to his career highlight reel in the second round. From a fairway bunker on the right side of the ninth hole, he hit a massive cut shot that curled around a tree, landed on the green, made a 90-degree turn to the right and rolled just past the hole. The shot was hit with Woods’ Bridgestone Tour B XS, a 75-compression, three-piece ball that features a urethane cover and dimple-in-dimple design.
