Hi folks, updated copy below. Thank you! EMAIL SUBJ: Will you be a part of #GivingTuesday? SENDER: Dr. Jill Biden The holiday season is a time for reflection – on what you’re thankful for, on what you’ve accomplished in the last year, on what you hope the new year will bring. This holiday season, my family is especially proud of the tremendous growth of the Beau Biden Foundation. During our first year, the Foundation focused on establishing its programming across the state Beau loved so much. This year, our second year, we focused on expanding our reach – forming new partnerships in and around Delaware to reach more people and shining a brighter light on the scourge of child sexual abuse. Take a look at this short video and learn about what the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children has been able to accomplish so far. I’ve spent my career as a teacher. Like my son Beau, I believe that every adult has a moral obligation to speak out and take action when they see a child in danger. Children can’t often protect themselves. They need to rely on communities of responsible adults to help keep them safe and give them the opportunities they deserve to have a fulfilling life. That was Beau’s mission. And that’s the mission of the Beau Biden Foundation. You can us have an even more impactful third year, by taking part in #GivingTuesday on November 28th. On this day, after shopping all weekend, we ask folks to pause, reflect on the work the charities they love do, and give back to a cause that matters to them. The work the Beau Biden Foundation does really matters. Not just to me and my family, but to the thousands of children and parents we worked with this year. Please, help the Beau Biden Foundation reach 1,000 donors by the end of #GivingTuesday. Make a donation to help bring us closer to a world free from child abuse. Thank you for all your support. We appreciate everything you do to help advance Beau’s mission. Gratefully, Dr. Jill Biden EMAIL SUBJ: re: Will you be a part of #GivingTuesday? SENDER: Hunter Biden The numbers are staggering. 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused before they turn 18. 6 out of 10 children never disclose their abuse. 9 out of 10 are abused by someone they know or trust. My brother Beau talked about these statistics to anyone and everyone who would listen. And for the last two years, the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children has been working to continue the work Beau dedicated his life to, and we’ve been more successful than I ever thought possible. We need to do more, though. And we need your help. Next Tuesday, November 28th, is #GivingTuesday. This is a chance for people around the country to give back to a cause or charity that’s important to them. I can’t think of a better cause than making sure every child in this country gets to have a full childhood free from abuse or neglect. Earlier this week my mom emailed you about our growth in the last year – the new partnerships we’ve formed and the thousands of children and adults we’ve trained. You can help us reach even more people with our programming by chipping in whatever you can for our #GivingTuesday drive. Mom asked for 1,000 people to step up by November 28th. I’m hoping we can double that. My brother Beau believed in our better angels. He believed that every person – if given the chance between doing the right thing or turning the other way – would do the right thing. Beau held himself to the same standards. He stood up and spoke out for what was right. He knew the surest way to end child abuse was to shine a light on it and give adults the tools to do the right thing and put a stop to it. Help the Beau Biden Foundation fulfill my brother’s mission. Dr. Biden, your email will contain a screen shot of the video we played at the golf outing, that will link to a donation page with the full video. Please let me know any edits you may have.
