Our upcoming reunion is October 21-23, 2016. This is our 20th, in case you are pretending to be young. > > Planning for the weekend is already underway, and we’ll provide more details closer to the date. Meanwhile, here is a preliminary summary to help you plan accordingly: > > Friday, October 21: The reunion will kick off on Friday afternoon with the first panel on one of several “hot topics.” We know they will be “hot” because we would never plan “cold” topics. Following a reception in the nave of the Sterling Memorial Library, we will join other classes for the all-alumni dinner at the Schwarzman Center (formerly University Commons). We will be seated by class for dinner and there will be time to mingle afterward over coffee, wine, beer, houkas, and dessert. > > Saturday, October 22: We may choose to join “Breakfast Connections” and be matched with current YLS students with interests similar to ours (Minecraft anyone?), or we may join friends for a continental breakfast in the Dining Hall. Following breakfast, there will be more panels on “hot topics” (see above). We’ll then head over to the Schwarzman Center as a class for the all alumni luncheon and the presentation of the Award of Merit, the Law School’s highest award, to Governor Gina Raimondo ’98 of Rhode Island and Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. ’64 of California. This will be one of several opportunities to ponder how little you have accomplished relative to your classmates. After the luncheon, we’ll have time for class photos and a class activity, and we may choose to attend the Affinity Groups Reception from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. > > Our formal class reunion reception and dinner will take place on Saturday evening at an extremely upscale New Haven venue. It’s going to be a wonderful evening; don’t miss it! Did we say it would be “upscale?” Extremely. > > Sunday, October 23: We’ll have the chance to get together one last time on Sunday morning for brunch. Last chance to see friends and feel inadequate before your past. > > We wanted to write now to give you the chance to get an early start on your travel and hotel arrangements, since we’ll all be handling our own accommodations. Attached is a list of hotels where the Law School is holding blocks of rooms; please identify yourself as a Yale Law School Alumni Weekend attendee when you make your reservations. (Space may already be limited in some of the blocks.) > > You’ll hear from us again soon about possible class and family-friendly activities, and you’ll receive the official Alumni Weekend 2016 Brochure in August. At that time, the entire schedule of the Weekend, early bird online registration, names of attendees (posted as registrations come in), and more will be posted on the Law School web site at www.law.yale.edu/AW2016, so please be sure to check it for updates. > > We really hope you can make it! Please contact your friends from our class and tell them you hope to see them in New Haven this fall. Our class facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/yls.1996/ is a great way to reconnect, too. We look forward to seeing you. > > Sincerely, > > Deborah N. Archer > Jeremy M.
