Hunter - I’ve attached a draft of the NCMEC speech for you to review and edit. I took the first stab and Alex made it much better. Beau is being honored at NCMEC’s Hope Award Gala. From their website: The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s HOPE AWARDS will be held on Thursday, May 12 at The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C. The event is a celebration of the inspiring work to protect children. We will recognize leaders in child safety, honor survivors and remember those who are still missing. Past award recipients include: actors Bryan Cranston and Ben Affleck; Vice President Joe Biden; Secretary of State Colin Powell; the cast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit;" survivors Elizabeth Smart and Jaycee Dugard; and corporations, including Canon USA and Google that support NCMEC’s work through generosity and innovation. Whereas the HOBY speech last fall took the “service” angle on Beau’s life, this takes the law enforcement/protecting children angle. I left changes tracked, so you can see how much better of a speech writer Alex is than I. :-) Thanks, JOsh Joshua Alcorn 302/295.8340 (office) 302/598.1885 (cell) josh@beaubidenfoundation.or
