FYI, when you go to CA you'll be in the San Jose area. If you wanted to go play golf at one of the TPC courses on that Friday there are two - TPC Hayward, just south of Oakland in the East Bay and TPC Harding in San Francisco - northeast of downtown by the ocean. Hayward is a little closer to San Jose (30 minutes) and Harding is about an hour away. All within easy drives though. I think you may want to either fly into SFO roundtrip or into San Jose and out of SFO. Even the drive from SFO to San Jose isn't bad. By the way, San Jose is pretty much right next to Mountain View, where Google is. You may want to reach out to Meg while there. But you'll be centrally located to see pretty much anyone you need to see - Chris Kelly, Greg Penner, Google people, etc.
