http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1211/70325.html Biden, Musharraf chat at game Vice President Joe Biden had a chance encounter Saturday afternoon at the Army-Navy football game with former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf. Biden and Musharraf were spotted near the wounded soldiers section, according to a source familiar with the exchange. Continue Reading A spokesperson for Biden confirmed the interaction. “The Vice President was visiting wounded warriors during halftime at the Army-Navy game. Former President Musharraf was sitting in a neighboring box. Vice President Biden said a brief hello to President Musharraf and his party. They had no substantive conversation,” the spokesperson said in a statement. The United States is evacuating an air base in Pakistan following a request by Islamabad after NATO airstrikes killed 24 Pakistani soldiers. American drones targeting the Taliban and al-Qaeda used the base. This isn’t Musharraf and Biden’s first interaction. In 2007, as a presidential candidate, Biden reached out to the then-president about unrest in Pakistan. Since resigning from office in August 2008, Musharraf has also increased his presence in Washington. In September, Advantage Associates International registered as a foreign agent to lobby for Musharraf. The firm is working to “develop strategy to represent the interest of General Pervez Musharraf in the United States,” according to the registration. Pakistani-American Raza Bokhari is paying the $175,000 retainer, which runs through the end of March. Eric D.
