>> Subject: Moonshot Initiative and Children's CETI Program
>> Dear Kathleen,
>>
>> It was great to see you at the DCVLP fundraising event last week. Thank you again for hosting such a lovely evening. As I mentioned when we spoke, my CEO and I and some of our key cancer researchers are very keen on connecting with the Moonshot Initiative and sharing our incredible game-changing research with the team.
>>
>> The Program for Cell Enhancement and Technologies for Immunotherapy (CETI) is an immunotherapy-focused program that currently supports over 10 novel clinical trials developed at Children’s National using innovative cell therapies to treat patients with cancer. Because of the unique, potentially life-saving therapies that are only available at Children’s National, the program receives upwards of 100 patient referrals annually from all over the USA, including Johns Hopkins as the biggest referrer. The results are more promising than current T-cell therapies – the study program allows for:
>> · Broader application (i.e. inclusion of very diverse hard to treat population with promising results)
>> · Higher efficacy
>> · Less severe side effects (i.e. minimal toxicity)
>> · Strong track record for moving quickly to translate clinical trials from mice to (wo)men
>> I am attaching a one page overview of the program here as well.
>>
>> As I mentioned, Matt had reached out to Don Graves about our interest in briefing the Moonshot Initiative team on our efforts here at Children’s. Don had mentioned that his assistant would be in touch to discuss further, but it has been a week and I have not heard back so I was hoping you could follow-up so that we could close the loop and connect.
>>
>> Thank you so much Kathleen. This is really promising for kids and adults and it would be so impactful for us to be part of this multi-institutional effort.
