Hi – you are amazing – I didn’t realize that they had saved a spot for Danny. And I certainly hope I did nothing (and Danny did nothing) to put you or anyone in your dad’s office in an awkward position. We are both so incredible grateful.

He had been trying to find out the timing of a decision from the VP’s office as he had to give an answer to the Bipartisan Policy Center on an offer they made for a terrific internship, but BPC had to know before the VP’s office was ready to commit. He actually emailed the VP’s office and told them he regretted withdrawing his application due to timing so he didn’t lose the other internship.

The good news is he is very happy with the internship he has. He would have loved to have worked with the VP’s office – who wouldn’t! Perhaps when he graduates he can apply again for the real deal.

Hunter, I can’t begin to thank you for this. I am embarrassed that I didn’t realize this and I hope I didn’t guide Danny incorrectly. He did not know he had an internship at the time he withdrew. Thank you for everything!

I got this message from Dad's staff:

"Hunt-
FYI- we saved an intern spot for Danny Schwaber, but he called and withdrew his application. I assume something came up and he was no longer available. As far as I know, he didn’t give a reason."

I just wanted to make sure this was accurate. If not and there is some miscommunication- I'll let them know.
