Hey Hunter! Hope you are having a nice last week at the lake. Before I forget, I wanted to pass along information for Next Level's tryouts for this year. We have a lot of girls trying out this year and are hoping to field some pretty competitive teams. I think Finny (& Maisy if she is liking lacrosse) would do great on our teams. Just to give you a little idea about our program, it is a year-round commitment but each season varies. Below is a little blurb of our focuses & time commitment for each season. As of right now, I will be coaching the 8th Grade Team & the Freshman team this year. That could change but even if it did, I really like all of our coaches and would trust that they would provide a positive learning & competitive environment for the girls. We have 2 try outs dates and every player needs to attend at least one of them (if you won't be back in time, we can arrange for the girls to come play at our first team practice) *1st Tryout Date:* Sunday, August 26th 6th Grade: 10-11:30am @ Holy Child Turf Field 8th Grade: 3-5:00pm @ Holy Child Turf Field *2nd Tryout Date: * Tuesday, August 28th 6th Grade: 5:45-7:45pm @ Tilden MS, Rockville MD 8th Grade: 5:45-7:45pm @ Tilden MS, Rockville MD Next Level Program: *Fall Ball: (Sept 9-Oct 28) *The focus of Fall Ball is to build team chemistry and gain skills from competitive league games, which will help us prepare for our November tournaments. Commitment consists of games on Sundays and 1-2 practices per month. We also enter 1 or 2 fall tournaments that are held in early November. *Winter Training: (Jan 2-Feb 31)* The focus of our indoor winter training program is to significantly improve key individual skills and team offensive and defensive strategies to prepare for the spring season. The program includes professionally instructed speed and agility training during each practice session to maximize each player’s potential. Commitment consists of 1 practice per week and games on Sundays. *Spring Season: (Mar 1-May 31)* Being the in-season sport, our spring season consists of 2 practices per week and league games on Sundays. The focus of this season is to put concepts learned in the fall and winter together for a successful, competitive and exciting season. *Summer Tournaments: (June 1-July 21) *Teams enter anywhere from 2-4 tournaments in June and early July. To adequately prepare for each tournament, teams usually practice 1 time per week. Anyway, apologies for the long email, just wanted to give you as much info as possible and feel free to call if you have any questions and of course, NO PRESSURE what so ever.. I just wanted to make sure I passed along the info. Thanks!
