Mark, I did speak to Adam and he basically told me the same thing he told
you. He said it was unfortunate that this happened because Third Point is
a "great investment" for Taft Hartley funds and he tells everybody that.
Bottom line is that I think, as we discussed, this will be an issue for
some union funds until November where things will either get better quickly
(if Obama wins and most of this will be forgotten) or it will continue to
be an issue for some funds if Romney wins and goes after Labor. So our
goal is to limit damage over the next 2 months and step up our work with
those unions who aren't getting worked up over the issue (I think there are
plenty of those). We'll be talking to folks in other unions to see if any
of them raise the issue with us (we will not initiate it however). We'll
keep you posted.
