Dear Hunter,

Radical Republicans and the Koch brothers-backed special interest groups are looking to buy the Senate this year so they can ram an anti-middle class agenda through Congress.

We don't know exactly what that agenda entails. But we do know that part of it includes "reforming" Medicare and Social Security.

And by "reform," they mean turn Medicare into a voucher system, privatize Social Security, and decimate the economic security seniors rely on.

I have one thing to say to those types of "reforms": No way. Tea Party members in the House have tried -- and failed -- three times to end Medicare as we know it. We didn't let them do it then -- and we won't let them do it now.

The Tea Party only has to win this battle once. But we have to defend Medicare and Social Security each and every time these programs are threatened. And if we don't stand strong, seniors will pay the price.
