Dear Friend,

As we wrap up the Democratic National Convention and head back home to Maryland, I am excited to report that the energy and enthusiasm of the Maryland Delegation and all the Democrats who gathered in Charlotte couldn't be higher. Everyone I spent time with this week was ready and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure four more years for President Barack Obama. Thank you so much to Maryland Democratic Party chair Yvette Lewis, to MDP's dedicated staff, and to all the Marylanders who made the trip.

On Tuesday, Governor O'Malley set the tone for the next couple of months with three words: “Forward, not back.” And Michelle Obama knocked it out of the park with her heartfelt words about the President’s values that continue to drive his motivation toward progress and opportunity for all Americans today. Wednesday night we saw Maryland take over the Convention with speeches from U.S. Senator Mikulski, Congressman Steny Hoyer and Congressman Chris Van Hollen. Then President Bill Clinton capped things off by telling the truth about President Obama’s economic policies, and exposing the lies and half-truths of the Romney-Ryan Campaign for what they are. And finally, last night, President Obama laid out the clear choice facing the American people this November (http://anthonybrown.com/news/statement-from-lt-governor-brown-on-president-obamas-acceptance-speech-at-the-democratic-national-convention/): Do we want to keep moving forward under the President's leadership towards an economy built to last, where everyone has a fair shot to succeed? Or do we want to go back to the same job-killing policies that caused the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression

Barack Obama has proven time and again that he's focused on creating jobs and rebuilding our economy, fighting to preserve and expand the Middle Class, and making the tough decisions that will move our country forward. In Maryland, the President's policies have directly improved the quality of life for our families, friends and neighbors, and helped us recover thousands of the jobs lost due to the recession. We need a partner in the White House with the ability to make the best decisions to build on our progress, even if those aren’t necessarily the easiest decisions.

In less than two months, I know we’ll be celebrating President Obama’s victory—a victory that will be possible because of the hard work and dedication of people like you. Until then, we have much to do. Let's stay fired up and ready to go.
