Dear Members of the Board,

We will be hosting a dinner on the evening of Tuesday, May 22nd for Muhannad Hadi, WFP Regional Director for the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. Muhannad, who is based in Cairo, leads WFP’s operations in some of the most challenging countries in the world. His region includes Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, State of Palestine, Sudan, Syria and Turkey. I have attached Muhannad’s bio and you will see that he has more than 25 years of experience in humanitarian and development work, having undertaken assignments at the country, headquarters and regional levels.

I do hope you will be able to join us as we discuss some of the crises that are in the news on a daily basis and how beyond mobilizing the life-saving immediate response to these crises, WFP is also working to support recovery and longer-term solutions to food insecurity within the region where he leads WFP’s work.

We will secure a venue in DC for the dinner and aim to start at 6:30. Look forward to seeing you there, and should there be anyone else who you believe would be interested in joining, do let us know. Please let Shannon know if you will be able to attend.
