Dear USGLC Board of Directors, A big thank you to everyone who was able to join the meeting last week with Ivanka Trump. From follow-on conversations with her team, it's clear that Ivanka was interested and impressed by what our coalition brings to the table. We heard from them an interest in further learning what businesses and NGOs are doing to advance women's economic empowerment and success stories from the field. Based on their desire to travel internationally, we are also working with their office to suggest these projects as potential site visits as they plan trips to Africa and Asia in the near-term. We would like to ask your help in compiling your best story that showcases how the private and public sectors can work together to address barriers to women's economic success (these barriers may be cultural, educational, financial, etc). The USGLC will help compile these stories from Board members and share with Ivanka's team. We've put together the template below to provide a structure for your submission and to streamline the process for Ivanka's team. Please just send back your stories in a Word document. One final note: It's important that we limit our stories to those that are centrally focused on economic empowerment, rather than broader women's rights, social development, or humanitarian stories. Could you submit back to me your material no later than Friday, June 15th? Of course, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thanks for your participation and collaboration.
