This is OUR victory tonight, team.

Tonight's results send a very clear message: Iowans are ready to put people first in our state. And they won't take no for an answer.

It's time to move Iowa forward. Get Iowa growing. And put people first.

I've spent the last few months traveling to all 99 counties, I've eaten hundreds of gas station donuts, and I've spoken to thousands of voters -- and our organizers and volunteers all across the state have spoken to hundreds of thousands more.

In every conversation I had at diners, coffeeshops, medical offices, and colleges, Iowans are ready for new, experienced leadership in our state that will prioritize people over partisanship and invest in the state we all love.

Today is the first big step in choosing which direction our state moves next -- in every corner of our state, voters turned out today to choose a new path.

But I want to be clear about one thing: I'm not just running against Gov. Reynolds and her failed record. I'm running for the people of Iowa. All of Iowa. I'm running on a vision to get Iowa growing the right way and a record of bringing people together to get things done. We've got to turn this state around and we don't have time to waste.

Whether you live on a farm, in a small town, or in one of our vibrant cities, we all drink water and need our farms to succeed. We stand united to restore funding for Planned Parenthood and reverse the most restrictive anti-women's health care law in the country. We need to provide everyone with the training and education they need to get the good jobs we create. And we must reverse Gov. Reynolds' failed Medicaid privatization and improve our mental health care system.

I am running for governor because I love this state and want to leave it to all of our children and grandchildren better than we found it. And I've got a plan to get it done.

But while we celebrate tonight, the toughest part is now ahead of us -- taking on Gov. Reynolds will not be easy, but this team is ready. We're ready to fight for Iowans and get our state back on track. But we need you with us every step of the way.
