Feels like this election is flying by, Robert - after so many months of building this campaign, every time I look up at the calendar and see us this much closer to Election Day, I get a jolt. Now it's August and we're only three months out. You've been with me through it all, invested in this campaign, and carried us to now - so wanted to take a few minutes to reflect and share my thoughts with you.

Our first mission since day one has always been to fight to keep CA the shining beacon of optimism and progress I know we can be - so it's been really exciting to win the support of some people and organizations I admire so much as we work to do just that. Just this past month Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice California, and LA Mayor Eric Garcetti all endorsed this campaign - means everything to me. And I'm humbled beyond measure that President Obama believes we have what it takes - no better leader to have in our corner.

But for all the good news we're getting, we've always got to have one eye out for the latest attack out of the White House. Hundreds of innocent children kidnapped by this administration are still being tortured far from their parents, and the ones who have been reunited are traumatized for life. Makes my blood boil every time I think about it. Then you've got these incessant attacks on women's healthcare, the huge fight ahead of us to protect Roe v. Wade ... and that's not even getting into this unreal new idea to let people 3D print untraceable guns. Are you kidding me? And Trump says he's asking the NRA if they're okay with it. If that's not the definition of "bought-and-paid-for," I don't know what is.

There's no shortage of reminders of why we're in this fight, and that no matter how much we're already doing, we have to dig deeper and do more. But the stakes aren't just sky-high because of what we're trying not to lose - there's so much we can win if we keep fighting for what we're for. Affordable healthcare and housing, pushing the ball forward on education and criminal justice reform, an economy that moves everyone upward. A chance to flip the House. Electing incredible new leaders to the CA legislature and accelerating our bold, progressive course into the future.

I see so much hope for all of it when I'm out talking to people like you. You're staying informed, taking action, powering this electrifying movement. Making a difference and doing good. Just one of my favorite examples: Together we raised over $20,000 to help reunite separated families at the border. This team is all heart - and that makes me prouder than anything else.

That's what it's all about, and all of this is thanks to you, Robert. People like you are the reason we're going to build a future we can be proud to pass down. Whether you just joined us or have been here from the start - this campaign doesn't run without you, and I couldn't be more grateful.

So yeah, just a few thoughts, but wanted to share what's been on my mind. Hard to believe how far we've come and how much has happened, but all of this - all of the reasons we got into this fight in the first place - is always at the center. And remember: Everything comes down to November, so let's make every second between now and then count.
