"Crossroads reserves $20M for fall"

Dear Hunter,

Karl Rove's outside spending groups, American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS, reserved $20 million in television advertising time for the fall.

Their targets? Senate races in six states.

Rove's group wants to buy the Senate for the same reason the Koch brothers do -- with rubber stamps in the Senate, they'll be able to pass their right-wing agenda.

It's up to grassroots networks like ours to stop them. This month, we need $10,000 to keep our efforts going. If you can, give $5 or more right now.

This new $20 million reservation is lumped on top of the $290 million the Koch brothers plan to spend in elections. There's no telling if this is the end of the spending, or just the beginning.

If special interest-backed candidates win the Senate, they could end Medicare as we know it, privatize Social Security, erase years of progress on women's access to health care, and there's no telling what else they would do.

There is too much riding on the outcome of this election for you and me to back down, Hunter. This much spending from the other side may seem daunting -- but our grassroots network is more powerful than Crossroads' bank accounts.
