Dear Hunter,


As you know, I will be traveling to Athens in June for the Special Olympics World Summer Games, an unprecedented gathering of over 44,000 athletes, coaches, volunteers, and fans that will showcase the ability, courage, and strength of Special Olympics athletes from around the world. In addition to competitions in 22 different sports, the provision of free health care for every athlete, a global youth conference focused on tolerance and acceptance for people with intellectual disabilities, and a global research symposium convening health experts from around the world, the Games will also be the largest-ever showcase of Unity Sports Events. All together, there will be 20 unified sports events ranging from badminton, beach volleyball, and handball to football and basketball. These events will bring people with and without disabilities together to experience fun and teamwork, and also demonstrate the power of love, inclusion, and acceptance for all.


I am excited to let you know that I will be competing in the Unified Softball competition on July 2.
