This Week's Must Have Animals: Kitten Rescue With Purrfect Timing By now you know we come to you each week featuring animals from our rural shelter partners who we are hoping to bring to Homeward Trails. These 5 kittens are no exception. They come to us from a shelter partner who euthanizes 80% of their cats. We feel so fortunate to be able to step in and give these kittens a second chance. If we can secure the sponsorship needed to cover initial vetting and transport costs, these kittens will be on their way to a life of luxury in the kitten lounge! Each week we will feature a few of our cute and cuddly cats who are looking for a new foster home. We are limited in the number of animals we can rescue by the number of foster homes in which to place them. This is where you come in. The more foster homes we have, the more animals we can rescue. By providing an animal a temporary home, the foster has given that animal another chance at life that he/she otherwise would not have had. A foster's job is not an easy one. Cats may have trust issues and need socialization. Read our Foster FAQ's to see if you are a good fit to be a foster. Wesson is a very friendly, laid-back guy who seeks out human attention. He'll sleep next to your legs, chill in your lap while you watch TV, and just be an overall, awesome side-kick. He's fine with other cats but is front declawed so they need to be nice cats! He really just wants human attention. Wesson gets daily blood pressure medicine, a vitamin supplement, and is on prescription food for his kidney issues. He's gained a pound while in foster over the last few months and is doing so well! We will only move him to a stable foster home that will foster him until adopted which may take awhile for a senior cat with medical needs. Sophia Loren and Bluie Still need a foster! Mom Sophia Loren and daughter Bluie are a bonded pair from Afghanistan. They need to be integrated in a home as they have been fostered in a basement which was meant to be short term but it's been 4 months. Bluie needs more one-on-one time with people and they will be much happier when they can move around the house with people. They both love their heads pet but are quick to tire of attention and then swat to say enough. Best if no little kids but a foster who can watch and know when to stop petting - someone who speaks "cat". Eevee She was at the shelter for a year and a half before coming to us. She's looking for a quiet home, with or without other cats, where she can spend her days napping, watching the latest documentary on Netflix, and being appreciated. Very low maintenance.
