BEN SCHRECKINGER in Balmedie, Scotland: "Trump took his business and campaigning cross-promotion to the next level on Saturday, giving a rolling press conference and tour of his resort from the driver's seat of a golf cart, with reporters in hot pursuit. The press conference revealed both stunning views of the North Sea and that Trump [would dine] Saturday night with ... Rupert Murdoch. ...
"Trump posted a video of his landing, its opening frames emblazoned with 'Trump International Golf Links Scotland' in gold script, on Facebook. His son Donald Jr. posted a picture of the 14th hole on Instagram. ... Trump later toured the property in a golf cart with Murdoch and his new wife, the former model Jerry Hall." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=55bfe06dc1dc87a0f254989d11de9bd31f75af56399ef52be844329e5ead60e9

TOUGH BUT FAIR ... Hope Hicks profile is lead article of NYT Sunday Styles, "Mr. Trump's Gatekeeper: Hope Hicks, Donald Trump's press secretary, is a quiet force in a blustery campaign ... the Trump Campaign's Calm Center," by Michael Grynbaum (online: "The Woman Who 'Totally Understands' Donald Trump"): "[F]or journalists who cover the campaign, she is sometimes the Jekyll to Mr. Trump's Hyde, emailing angry complaints from her media-bashing boss ... and often concluding with her own polite sign-off: 'Best, Hope.' Seemingly unfazed by her boss's outbursts, she can detect the best moments for reporters to make requests - knowing, for instance, not to bother Mr. Trump while he is watching a
major golf tournament. ...
"Among journalists, Ms. Hicks is not known to wrangle, cajole or mingle, serving as more of a conduit for her intensely media-savvy boss, who likes to act as his own chief spokesman. ... Reporters praise Ms. Hicks for her poise amid a chaotic campaign. But some say that she can be unresponsive to questions, a habit so pervasive that it spawned a mocking, anonymous Twitter account, @HicksNoComment.
"On the trail, political reporters say Ms. Hicks rarely interacts with them at rallies, preferring to communicate by text or telephone. Ms. Hicks - perhaps the only campaign press secretary to have been photographed as a teenager by the fashion photographer Bruce Weber, in a campaign for Naturalizer shoes - favors Burberry trench coats and heels." REMEMBERING BILL CUNNINGHAM - NYT's Jacob Bernstein, on p. 1, bottom of page, "A Lens on Style, Low and High, On the Street": "Bill Cunningham, who turned fashion photography into his own branch of cultural anthropology on the streets of New York, chronicling an era's ever-changing social scene for The New York Times by training his busily observant lens on what people wore - stylishly, flamboyantly or just plain sensibly - died on Saturday in Manhattan. He was 87. ... Mr. Cunningham was such a singular presence in the city that, in 2009, he was designated a living landmark.
"And he was an easy one to spot, riding his bicycle through Midtown, where he did most of his field work: his bony-thin frame draped in his utilitarian blue French worker's jacket, khaki pants and black sneakers (he himself was no one's idea of a fashion plate), with his 35-millimeter camera slung around his neck, ever at the ready for the next fashion statement to come around the corner. ...
