Dear Boards,

As you may remember, we were highly unhappy with our auditor's level of
carefulness last year, and decided this year to find someone new. We have
found a few candidates who come recommended - but the audit costs for both
organizations, along with the 990s, is clocking in at between $18,000 and
$25,000. Calling around other organizations, these numbers are sadly not
extraordinary - though they seem so for me.

Before we sign on the dotted line, *do any of you have auditors recommended
by other nonprofits you are affiliated with who we should look into? * We
would like to make a final call by the end of this week - so if you do have
recommendations, please send them on or put Sarah in touch directly with
the other organization we should speak with.

Our books are fairly complex, given the relationships between the two
organizations, and it is imperative that the audit is correct and careful -
so we don't want to be penny wise and pound foolish. But we don't want to
spend unnecessarily, either.
