FINAL 7/8 DANCE -- Message from Lisa Gunty:

dear friends
the last dance for our 7th and 8th graders is friday june 1st from
6:30-10 in the dining room. we need volunteers to send in some food,
to set up, clean up and a couple to assist during the dance--but not
be responsible chaperones, a job assumed by faculty/admin members.

please let me know (lgunty@aol.com) if you are available to help along
with what you prefer to do...eg food, set up, clean up, clean up,
clean up!!!! don't be afraid to help clean up! thank you in advance
for your support in making this a fun gathering for the kids. i hope
to hear from you this week if possible...

SCRAPBOOKS FOR RETIRING/DEPARTING LOWER SCHOOL TEACHERS!

As you may know, both Mr Tome and Ms Shea will be moving on from
Sidwell at the end of this year. If your child would like to complete
a page for a scrapbook for either or both teachers, please do so by no
later than May 31st.

Please sign your child's full name, current grade, and if applicable,
email or facebook contact. Please feel free to include a picture, a
poem/haiku, or any thought or drawing to share with Maurice or Lana if
your child was a student in one of their classrooms and would like to
participate...

Also, it is not too late to submit contributions for Virginia Singer
and Ellie Lash -- the deadline has been extended to May 23. Please
see the Tuesday letter announcement below.

First Grade teachers Virginia Singer and Ellie Lash are retiring at
the end of the school year after 60+ years of combined service. Their
current first graders are putting together special scrapbooks for each
of them. They would like to make the scrapbooks more meaningful with
notes and thoughts from former students. If your child was in Mrs.
Singer and/or Mrs. Lash's class, encourage them to take a moment to
write a nice note to each of them. They can include favorite memories
from first grade and best wishes. Blank note cards for students are
available in the Middle School Office and may be returned there when
completed. Parents, if you have fond memories of Virginia and Ellie,
you may write your own notes and return them to the Middle School
office or email your messages to First Grade Room Parents Jenifer
Panner (jpanner@gmail.com) or Scott Montgomery
(fstmontgomery@gmail.com). Thanks for helping celebrate these two
wonderful teachers.
