Dear Senior Parents, ** ** Calling all senior parents and guardians, the senior celebration fun has begun. We are practicing the segue and the closing events *tomorrow, Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 7pm to 9pm*. In order to put the finishing touches on the segue and the closing events, we are requesting participation from *all parents and guardians.* The practice will allow the segue committee and the closing committee to share how each of us will be a part of this fun evening, as we celebrate our children for the last time in high school. **** For your ease, we have attached the segue instructions that demonstrate the minimum participation that will be expected. We have also attached the lyrics and music for the exit song that will conclude the evening. If you have the time, please review before tomorrow’s practice.**** Please don’t be alarmed if you do not get a chance to view the attachments before tomorrow, the demonstration will be simple and very easy to follow. Just think FUN!!!!! It’s not about perfection at all…it’s all about celebration! **** *Seque Instructions* The links below will teach you how to be a part of it. HAVE FUN. People can join in at different points in the "segue" (our code name) so you can learn it all or come in later. This will happen in the courtyard, not on stage. The steps are really easy and fun to do. YOUR PARTICIPATION is the key -- not perfection :) We're attaching a word document of the lyrics along with the choreography for those who learn better that way. Get together with your friends and take a moment to practice the steps. This is exactly what *we* did in the video as we all learned the steps from scratch while taping! Tip No. 1 - *KEEP THIS ABSOLUTELY CONFIDENTIAL* Tip No. 2 - Make sure the kids are away - *DO NOT PLAY THE SOUND* in their proximity Tip No. 3 - Have fun! Tip No. 4 - Use your computer to watch the videos, they won't work on smart phones (nor iPads?) Tip No. 5 - *BEWARE* - Your computer can be *EXTREMELY DANGEROUS*!! Change your Outlook / Safari settings to delete all browser history always! For example, my computer automatically launches the last visited web page(s) upon opening safari. Tip No. 6 - Visit a different web page before closing your browser, just in case the above doesn't work. Tip No. 7 - Have more fun! You can see the entire segue from start to finish at the *3:00 minute mark in part two.* Start there and, if you feel you need a bit more help, you can go back and watch the whole thing that teaches it in sections. We will have the opportunity to practice all together on May 24 and explain when it happens in the evening, but it will be more fun if you come prepared! PART ONE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPI_IDvbmBE PART TWO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUz0fWc1mTw&feature=relmfu *The goal here is to delight our kids with our being whacky enough to do this. Be a part of the fun. * ** ** *Additionally, if you still would like to be a part of the coordination of this event we can use more volunteers to assist us with set up and clean up. Set up will take place at 4:00pm on Friday, June 1 and at 1:00pm on Saturday June 2. Clean up will take place on Saturday, June 2 immediately after the event. The more the merrier. * See you on all tomorrow on *May 24 at 7pm, in the Upper School Courtyard (outside of the theater).* **** ** ** Lisa Franklin Kelly lisaf.kelly@dc.gov**** Polly Bomstein psbomstein@comcast.net**** ** ** ** ** ** ** ***
