On May 23rd I completed paperwork to qualify as a candidate for
the State Senate. I made the decision to seek office because I
believe the citizens of District 21 deserve an approachable an
attentive leader. There are three simple reasons I chose to run
for office:

Less Government Lower Taxes Local Control of schools

Less government and fewer regulations in our lives will encourage
businesses to grow, expand, and create jobs. In order to
attract new investment, we must lower taxes. These tenets are
the keys to creating a high-performing and dynamic business
culture in Georgia. In order to insure that we have the
intellectual capital to build and sustain this cutting-edge
business community, we must invest in education and support it
through local control.

In my nine years as President & CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, I
have seen firsthand the importance of education. This community
is blessed to have the infrastructure to support and serve an
increasingly complex workplace. To keep pace with the digital
revolution, it will be critical for area schools to provide top
-notch educational experiences for its students. In order to do
this, we must allow our elected and appointed officials to work
with local school employees to envision and implement
educational plans to meet business and community needs and
ensure a bright future.

Education is the bedrock of a strong economy. I am in the race to
loosen state control on education and return it to the community
. If I am fortunate enough to garner your vote, I will pledge to
fight for local control of our schools and seek solutions to
problems without increasing taxes. I will not allow the folks at
the Gold Dome to take a Washington D.C. approach to running our
government and our lives.

I am a strong conservative with a proven track record of success.
