Financial Times CommentaryFariborz S. Fatemi June 27, 2016 Four weeks before the Democratic National Conventionspeculation continues at a furious pace as to whom Secretary Clinton will pickas her running mate. If common sense would prevail, the Democratic Party woulddo all it could to make sure that Secretary Clinton asks Vice President JoeBiden to continue in his current position and as her running mate. He may ormay not accept but when his country has called, he has always answered thecall. From every angle, top and down, he is head and shoulders better than anyof the candidates who are being talked about. And, he brings assets that noother possesses. For those unsure about the Secretary, he provides theassurances they need like no other. He immediately will help in the areas wherethe Secretary is weak. His rapport with the young and old; his rapport withworking class whites; his eight years of being the last person in the room whenthe President makes his decision; and above all, no one is more fit, morequalified and has had more experience in advising the current President andperhaps the next President, than Joe Biden. Secretary Clinton has manyqualified candidates to consider but there is no other than Joe Biden and forthe sake of the country's welfare, her choice is obvious.
