By Elena Schneider | 06/29/2016 10:00 AM EDT With Kevin Robillard, Theodoric Meyer and Maggie Severns The following newsletter is an abridged version of Campaign Pro's Morning Score. For an earlier morning read on exponentially more races - and for a more comprehensive aggregation of the day's most important campaign news - sign up for Campaign Pro today. (http://www.politicopro.com/proinfo) THAT'S A WRAP - Primary night results in New York, Colorado - "Glenn wins Colorado GOP Senate primary," by Campaign Pro's Elena Schneider: "El Paso County Commissioner Darryl Glenn won Colorado's Republican Senate primary tonight and will take on Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet in the fall. Glenn had 38 percent of the vote with 61 percent of precincts reporting when The Associated Press called the race. Businessman Jack Graham had 24 percent. ... Glenn, a fiery conservative who won the backing of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, now becomes the Republican standard-bearer in one of the GOP's only Senate pickup opportunities this year. Bennet, who won his first full term in 2010 after being appointed to his seat the previous year, spent the last three months airing a series of positive TV ads, as Glenn and the crowded Republican field scrapped for intra-party support. ... Senate Conservatives Fund and its super PAC played a major role in Glenn's victory, providing financial cover with over $600,000 in TV ads, mailers, and other efforts boosting Glenn before the primary. It was by far SCF's biggest effort in a 2016 primary." - "Bennet has already out-raised and out-advertised Glenn, so the key for him to be elected is that he'll need a decent tailwind from the Republican presidential nominee and he'll need to raise a lot of money, at least 5 to 10 million dollars, still he'll probably need some support from outside groups," said Eli Bremer, a GOP strategist based in Colorado Springs, Glenn's home court. "He had a lot of outside group support in the primary, so it'll be interesting to see how much of that translates into the general." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee889751149b81fbafec7f4451457fb0a1c47215c6c56574050 HOUSE RESULTS - Teachout will face Faso for open NY-19 battleground seat: "Democrat Zephyr Teachout will face Republican John Faso this fall in the race for retiring GOP Rep. Chris Gibson's House seat ... Teachout led Will Yandik 77 percent to 23 percent in the Democratic primary, while Faso led Andrew Heaney 63 percent to 37 percent on the GOP side when The Associated Press called both races. The race could be one of the most expensive House battlegrounds in the country this year. Teachout, a law professor and good-government activist who challenged Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a 2014 primary, is a prolific online fundraiser with a significant progressive following that only grew after Bernie Sanders endorsed her this spring. Meanwhile, Faso, a former state legislator and 2006 gubernatorial nominee, has already benefited from a super PAC funded by two of the top Republican donors in the country: hedge fund managers Robert Mercer and Paul Singer." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee8357181e5d11fa235e4bf7e5e47460e2896691df375e5cc88 - Tenney wins GOP primary in NY-22: "State Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney won a three-way Republican primary Tuesday in retiring GOP Rep. Richard Hanna's upstate House seat, setting up a battleground general election matchup with Democratic businesswoman Kim Myers and potentially a self-funding independent candidate. Tenney had 41 percent of the vote to 34 percent for businessman Steve Wells when The Associated Press called the GOP primary ... Tenney nearly defeated Hanna when she challenged him from the right in 2014, and she was already running again when Hanna announced his retirement in December." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee8d3a26cf3c2811c54b3aef435a8810427fa94f84d1be47a54 - Deacon wins Democratic primary in NY-24: "Democrat Colleen Deacon will face GOP Rep. John Katko for his Syracuse-based swing district this fall, after she won a three-way Democratic primary Tuesday night. Deacon, a former state staffer for Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, had 49 percent of the vote when The Associated Press called the primary with 88 percent of precincts reporting. Eric Kingson, a Syracuse University professor who was endorsed by Bernie Sanders, was in second place at 32 percent. ... Deacon outraised her opponents and had the backing of Gillibrand - who cut a TV ad for her ... EMILY's List also endorsed her." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee89c0b9e5671a35ffd18638228dbe456ca956c9f074948fbf7 - Suozzi wins Dem nod to face Martins in NY-03: "Democrat Tom Suozzi won a five-way primary in retiring Democratic Rep. Steve Israel's Long Island swing seat on Tuesday. Suozzi, a former Nassau County executive, had 36 percent of the vote with 99 percent of precincts reporting. ... Suozzi will face state Sen. Jack Martins, who cleared the Republican primary field, in November. The affluent suburban seat in New York's 3rd District is one of the few pickup opportunities this cycle for Republicans, who already have a 30-seat majority in the House." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee81da541c0a551886340fb0dd1edc5bd6771a3a01857ad11d5 TOO CLOSE TO CALL - Democrats in NY-01: The race between Democrats Anna Throne-Holst and Dave Calone in a Long Island swing district was too close to call late Tuesday night, with only 29 votes separating the candidates. Throne-Holst, a former Southampton town official, had 50.1 percent of the vote to Calone's 49.9 percent with 100 percent of precincts reporting. Throne-Holst and Calone were closely matched in fundraising, but Throne-Holst had the backing of Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and EMILY's List, which poured more than $700,000 into the race. The winner will face GOP Rep. Lee Zeldin, a freshman who's been a strong supporter of Donald Trump. - Race to replace Rangel: State Sen. Adriano Espaillat was leading in the race to replace longtime Rep. Charlie Rangel late Tuesday night, though the race remained too close to call. With 98 percent of precincts reporting, Espaillat was leading state Assemblyman Keith Wright, 37 percent to 34 percent. Seven other Democrats split the rest of the vote. Wright came from the same part of Harlem as Rangel and was his chosen successor. Espaillat, meanwhile, had strong support in the heavily Dominican neighborhood of Washington Heights after nearly beating Rangel in 2012 and 2014. If Espaillat does win, it will be the first time since 1944 that Harlem has not been represented by an African-American member of Congress. - See all the House results here: http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee8bf64e814d56e9836e9c7d6046b8e9fa790720ebe2841b9c7 INCUMBENTS CRUISE - Oklahoma members, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert untroubled by challengers: GOP Reps. Jim Bridensine (81 percent) and Markwayne Mullin (63 percent) cruised by primary challengers Tuesday night, while Utah's GOP Gov. Gary Herbert led his wealthy challenger nearly 3 to 1 as the AP called his race. Everyone, you've got your Tuesday nights back. No more primaries until August 2. Days until the 2016 election: 133. FIRST IN SCORE - Murphy raises $118,000 online since Rubio announcement: Democratic Rep. Patrick Murphy's Florida Senate campaign has raised $118,000 online from 3,000 contributors since GOP Sen. Marco Rubio announced he was running for reelection, banking $44,500 in the first day alone. (That's almost double what Rubio had in his campaign account, which he spent down during his presidential run, after his most recent FEC report.) The DSCC, J Street, the Council for a Livable World and Sens. Al Franken, Claire McCaskill, Harry Reid, Jon Tester, Brian Schatz and Debbie Stabenow all sent out fundraising emails for Murphy. FALL RESERVATIONS - "Senate Leadership Fund has made its first round of fall TV reservations, totaling close to $39 million in fall spending in key swing states. The leadership-aligned PAC's buy includes a major $15.8 million reservation placed in New Hampshire in partnership with Granite State Solutions, a super PAC solely focused on GOP Sen. Kelly Ayotte's race there. Ads will also air in Nevada, Ohio and Pennsylvania, as well as Missouri, in September and October. The reservation totals are as follows: $8.1 million in Ohio, $6 million in Nevada, $6.2 million in Pennsylvania and $2.5 million in Missouri." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee88658ffa822c3655d62e7a16f1c432fab69933ae681eb41cd - SUMMER SPENDING - Pro-Portman Fighting for Ohio Fund makes another buy: http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee8018c0fe32fecd4709ea3d774106e2b80a34c9260b9cb58e0 Dem governors accuse GOP of campaign finance violations in two states: Democrats are pouncing on campaign finance issues involving the RGA in two of the nation's most competitive governor's races. In Indiana, the state Democratic Party is filing an FEC complaint against the GOP governor's group, arguing it broke FEC rules by failing to provide a written statement in its ad that the RGA's Right Direction PAC was responsible for the spot's content. Here's the complaint: http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee89d279c35b6db63e24f84d83a9d471a4a8a2e59981bc9b25f - In Montana, the RGA registered as a political committee with the state after the state's Commissioner of Political Practices asked that they do so. While the commissioner praised the organization for following the law, Montana Democratic Party spokesman Jason Pitt said: "Greg Gianforte and his outside spending groups think they're above Montana's campaign finance laws." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee812c363145e33fec9444088ccd1d5d938fa2c6ce344ccc841 UNUSUAL BEDFELLOWS - League of Conservation Voters South Carolina affiliate backs winning Republican: The pro-environment League of Conservation Voters' South Carolina group touted its victory in a state legislative Carolina runoff, where it spent $145,000 to help Republican Scott Talley beat state Sen. Lee Bright. The group told Greenville Online that "it knocked on 21,100 doors, made 7,500 phone calls, dropped 120,000 pieces of mail and spent more than $90,000 trying to unseat state Sen. Lee Bright, who scored the lowest of any senator on its legislative scorecard." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee8cef6cbc93167c1c73633d07f45d56fe5f1e1853f96092661 PRESIDENTIAL SPEED READ - "Trump promised millions to charity. We found less than $10,000 over 7 years," by The Washington Post's David A. Fahrenthold: "In May, under pressure from the news media, Donald Trump made good on a pledge he made four months earlier: He gave $1 million to a nonprofit group helping veterans' families. Before that, however, when was the last time that Trump had given any of his own money to a charity? If Trump stands by his promises, such donations should be occurring all the time. In the 15 years prior to the veterans donation, Trump promised to donate earnings from a wide variety of his moneymaking enterprises ... If he had honored all those pledges, Trump's gifts to charity would have topped $8.5 million. But in the 15 years prior to the veterans' gift, public records show that Trump donated about $2.8 million through a foundation set up to give his money away - less than a third of the pledged amount - and nothing since 2009. Records show Trump has given nothing to his foundation since 2008." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee838d69c7d4fbf367aac5d22be18cf968917e43e5c4178284f - "Trump hires Rand Paul's former digital director," by POLITICO's Shane Goldmacher and Darren Samuelsohn: "Donald Trump has hired Vincent Harris, the former chief digital strategist for Sen. Rand Paul's presidential campaign and for Sen. Mitch McConnell's 2014 reelection bid, as the presumptive Republican nominee continues to ramp up his digital operations, according to multiple people familiar with the hiring. Trump is hiring not just Harris but the services of his Austin-based firm, Harris Media, these people said. Trump has increasingly begun to focus on his digital operations, particularly fundraising, as he begins to try to build a small-dollar operation to compete with Hillary Clinton." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee8322931f2cbefd7022a5f1bc985c524d13b607050071c4341 - "Lewandowski loses $1.2 million book deal," by POLITICO's Kenneth P. Vogel and Hadas Gold: "Corey Lewandowski had a $1.2-million offer from HarperCollins to write a book chronicling his time running Donald Trump's presidential campaign, but the publishing giant backed away from the deal amid concerns about Lewandowski's nondisclosure agreement, according to two sources familiar with the talks." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee86318a181d9fde7958dd5dde2e3ce16e650238bad05e628d5 - "Trump trashes GOP trade agenda," by POLITICO's Nolan D. McCaskill and Eli Stokols: "Donald Trump doubled down on economic populism and protectionism in a speech Tuesday, effectively taking conservative orthodoxy on free trade and tossing it onto the trash pile rising behind him. Promising to tear up existing trade deals - from the Bill Clinton-era NAFTA to the recently negotiated Trans-Pacific Partnership - and to punish China and other countries that he argued are dealing unfairly with the U.S., the presumptive GOP presidential nominee called for a new era of American economic independence." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee82d2d31095338108e9b9cb21c478b58954d101cdf97e03e32 CODA - QUOTE OF THE DAY: "A continuing rape of our country," said Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, describing the Trans-Pacific Partnership, POLITICO reported. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee8f531b4c5b031c9b0728b6970b26f1dcce10bf29dd64da1cb To view online: http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee8f855246f232b67dba95a455607506de8a408fd307e0321dd To change your alert settings, please go to http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=f5607ee82e0c3ee8eb72d628eb6ce4937c7bc0a6569fbedbf81df01333d2e1ef or http://click.politicoemail.com/profile_center.aspx?qs=c1c81b2ef644fde1dd3c1f6178ef6a8ea3ee660992025bd465e2a22c0be8771f5f5651cb8bea2bef9933939f545ddcd42129372e256ccd70 This email was sent to Hbiden@rosemontseneca.com by: POLITICO, LLC 1000 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, VA, 22209, USA To unsubscribe,http://www.politico.com/_unsubscribe?e=00000155-9c75-d895-a9fd-bd75ce810000&u=0000014e-f0fe-dd93-ad7f-f8fffbc40000&s=b3994edb1eb0d79c50cde38ca49ac60947943e043ae0ddf50dad1b69f37696566a1b1355936c01761823c2398f07ab66c43bf7d73c7cfed3634feacd254d136c
