Since the day I took office in the U.S. Senate, I’ve been committed to doing everything I can to move our nation forward and protect Americans and their families. From investments in early education to equal pay for equal work, I’m continuing to lead efforts to put in place commonsense policies our nation needs.

But I’m frustrated, Robert, to see my Republican colleagues continue to weaken and obstruct commonsense action we can take today to protect our country and our fellow citizens.

I’m deeply troubled by the careless obstruction that has become the status quo in Congress. But I won’t let gridlock keep us from working to meet the substantial challenges our nation faces.

We’re staring down a major FEC filing deadline on June 30, and I count on my grassroots supporters to help me keep fighting an extreme conservative agenda that stalls progress and seeks to move our nation backward. So I have to ask: Will you donate $5 or more to help us hit our $15,000 goal?

Here’s just a bit of what I’ve been working on in the Senate this year:

* I'm fighting for investments in early education so that children learn more earlier in life and then earn more when they enter our workforce as adults.
* I’m fighting back against Republican efforts to cut food assistance to vulnerable children and am traveling around Pennsylvania to highlight the importance of these critical programs.
* I’m keeping the pressure on for a fair hearing and a vote for President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland.
* I’m working with my Democratic colleagues to pass the Equality Act, which would protect LGBT Americans from discrimination in housing and the workplace, among other areas.

Republicans in Congress will continue to pursue policies that will take our nation in the wrong direction, but you can trust that I will keep fighting.

There’s just too much on the line for us to do anything other than keep pushing. I need your support to help me keep standing up for policies that build opportunity for all Americans. Will you donate $5 or more now, before our critical FEC deadline?
