Texas New Mexico Power (TNMP) serves nearly 240,000 residential and C&I customers, covers 13,000 square miles of Texas, and is spread over 76 geographically diverse cities. Based on these stats, the utility faced the unique challenges inherent in delivering power and services to disparate populations and geographies.
Because of their unique service area, TNMP chose a cellular smart grid communications network with managed services, which includes the hosting of all data collection and management applications. Specifically, key functionality such as billing export files, usage data, alarm notifications and error reports are all handled through this bundled solution.
Not only is TNMP utilizing managed services, they are also leveraging advanced features, such as analytics, which enhances their experience of turning data into actionable intelligence. This customized offering provides operational recommendations to TNMP, delivers a predictable cost model, all while allowing the utility to perform critical functions, run legacy systems, and focus on core operations.
Hear how TNMP, through this managed services model, is gaining additional efficiencies and using new insights to optimize energy delivery, measure system performance and detect energy diversion.
