Friend -- Today, Americans are more connected with the rest of the world than ever before. The internet has lowered barriers to entry for small-business owners and entrepreneurs while opening up markets around the world for their products and services. It's inspired and enabled mass movements and made the world's accumulated knowledge accessible to almost everyone. Bill Gates once said that "the internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow." I believe we're already there today. That's why I want to thank President Obama for his unwavering commitment to an open internet that protects users from online discrimination. The guidelines he released to the FCC earlier this week -- no blocking, no throttling, no tiered internet, and increased transparency -- are spot-on, and we should thank him for his commitment. Sign my note to President Obama thanking him for his commitment to strong Net Neutrality rules - I'll send our note to his office. I will also continue to call upon FCC commissioners to protect a free and open internet, and work with my colleagues in the Senate to ensure the internet remains a place that promotes new ideas and economic expansion. Earlier this year, I was one of over 4 million Americans to tell the FCC that they need to protect a free and open internet. This week, the president took a decisive stand, as well. Thank him for it here: http://act.corybooker.com/net-neutrality-thanks With the election behind us, I'll continue to keep in touch about issues I'm working on -- like reforming our criminal justice system and reducing poverty. My hope is that we can do things a bit differently than most other Senators, and that moving forward we can figure out ways to have direct, meaningful conversations that make a difference in the policy debates facing our country. Cory
