Sandy - I agree that it would be worthwhile to meet with Ertharin. In terms of messages, I suggest you focus on issues related to our fundraising operations as we seem to be working well together on public policy issues (i.e., the WFP and WFP USA teams were on the Hill together yesterday concerning our supplemental appropriations request). Specifically, I suggest the following three points: 1. The WFP and WFP USA fundraising staff need to operate as a team. a. We will be more successful working as a team. b. We need to be viewed by donors as seamless. 2. The lack of a consistent team approach among fundraising staff has negatively impacted trust among board members for WFP leadership. a. This situation can change if the fundraising staff work consistently as a true team. b. With increased trust and a team approach, we will achieve greater success. 3. WFP leadership needs to accept that we are partners with a common mission (not subcontractors). I hope this is helpful. I am available to discuss or provide additional information. Thank you very much. He said EC was going to be in DC and wondered if I had time for cup of coffee. Interesting. Unless you think that is a bad thing, I'm inclined to do it. If so, what do you think my message/objectove should be? Sand
