Agreed Hunter. I am truly happy we could not be more helpful! Mike, I dont know how you've managed to help pull this off, but whenever a true silent majority finds its voice - which i believe has existed in the yale community for at least 20 years, someone has led well. Good job. Great news- congratulations. R. Support for ROTC was so large that the Dean never had to put it to ballots. A simple show of hands was enough. Remarkably, there was no student protest on this issue at all -- literally not one kid with a sign. There have been student protests and vocal opposition from small groups of faculty at every other Ivy, so today's quiet and overwhelming success is truly unique. I'm just getting home from a celebratory dessert at President Levin's home. Several Generals from Air Force Cadet Command were present, and although this information is not yet public I'm happy to say that we seem to be close to an agreement that will bring an Air Force program to Yale. It remains to be seen whether or not the details will be worked out in time for classes in the coming fall, however. Yale is also in very quiet preliminary talks with the Navy, and things look good so far. Thanks to both of you for your support in this effort. While we never needed to call on you to take up the fight, your willingness to serve if necessary spoke volumes in several private conversations with senior university leaders. I'm proud to be a bulldog veteran tonight, and I thank you both for helping us bring home the win.
