Dear 4X Parents, Happy Mother's Day! We hope that your children had a great time on the overnight camping trip -- ours certainly did. Things are starting to ramp up as they do every May so we have lots of announcements: We are almost all set for costumes, scenery and props for our exciting May 20th class play production of “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon”.. however we are asking all of our "VILLAGERS" to bring in to school ASAP a pair of plain dark colored ( black, grey, dark brown, dark blue) long shorts, capri pants, leggings, or long pants that can be cut off in dull colors ... please no stripes or sports logos. Saturday, May 14 / 4:30 – 6:30- (PLEASE NOTE WE CONFIRMING THE TIME ON THIS AS IT MAY BE STARTING AT 5, PLEASE WATCH FOR AN E MAIL FROM THE 4TH GRADE REPS) Middle School Lobby: Scavenger Hunt for rising 5th grade- A fun afternoon activity to help students learn their way around the MS campus. Our fourth grade CHINA FESTIVAL has been rescheduled from Wednesday, June 1 to MONDAY JUNE 6 from 6:00 to 8 pm. Please note the start time is 6 pm not 6:30 pm. Our teachers know about the 6th grade expo that ends at 5:30 that day. The first half hour of the program is for light refreshments. The actual presentations will start at 6:30 (maybe even 6:40) and the teachers are working to accommodate parents of 6th graders. In addition, we ask if at all possible that siblings not attend the China festival because it will already be very crowded. We know this is all very tight, but as you know, the end of year scheduling is very tight! We very much appreciate your patience and efforts to make this work. PA ANNOUNCEMENTS: MAY 10: MEETING FOR WORSHIP You are always welcome to join your child in the classroom for Meeting for Worship. Please arrive a few minutes early to get situated. The 2012-2024 Strategic Plan calls for Sidwell Friends to address issues of different ethnic and cultural groups, to celebrate and promote a community based on inclusion and respect for differences, and to encourage close interaction among students, parents, teachers, and staff with varying backgrounds, experiences, interests, and perspectives. The Conversations on Diversity series helps the Head of School and the Board shape and articulate goals and objectives as Sidwell Friends prepares for our increasingly global and multicultural community and world.
