Dear Parents of 6th Grade Students,

Get ready to mark those calendars. There are a number of upcoming events –
for parents and students – that you’ll want to be sure to note.

- *Rising 7th Grade Transition Meeting – *Tuesday, May 10th
- *6th Grade Hangout – *Tuesday, May 24th
- *5/6 Grade Orchestra / 6th Grade Choral Concert – *Thursday, June 2nd
- *World Expo – *Monday, June 6th


*Rising 7th Grade Transition Meeting – Tuesday, May 10th *
All current 6th grade parents are encouraged to attend the Transition
Meeting to hear about the move to the seventh grade program. The meeting is
scheduled for *Tuesday, May 10th at 7:30 pm.* Preceding the meeting, the
Welcome Committee will be hosting a* reception for new families* joining the
class. Refreshments and appetizers will be served beginning at
*6:30pm.* We hope you are able to come early to mingle and welcome
the new families
into our community.

*6th Grade Hangout – Tuesday, May 24th ** *
This is the third and final hangout for this school year. Please make sure
your 6th-grader has reserved time to gather, socialize and relax with other
students in the grade from *2:00pm to 3:30pm on Tuesday, May 24th.* Parent
volunteers will be needed to assist with setup/cleanup and to help
chaperone. Please contact Portia at portia.robertson.migas@gmail.com if you
are able to help.

*5/6 Grade Orchestra / 6th Grade Choral Concert – Thursday, June 2nd *
Parents will be gathering in the Arts Center Theater at* 7:30pm* and we’ll
have the opportunity to hear the music our students have been studying this
year. Please save the date and keep your eyes peeled for more details
later.

*World Expo – Monday, June 6th *
Families of 6th grade students are invited to the Sixth Grade Expo on
Monday, *June 6th* from *4:00pm to 5:30pm. *Please plan to have your child
stay after school that day, as students will be helping to set up for the
Expo. The event, a culmination of the work of all students from all their
classes, is meant to celebrate the accomplishments and knowledge of our
sixth graders. We’ll gather, first, in the new Meeting House. At 4:30pm, the
event will move to the 2nd floor of the Middle School, where parents will be
able to view some of the projects on which our children have been working.
We’ll need volunteers to provide refreshments for this gathering, and help
with set-up/cleanup for the event. Please contact Hillary, at
