Mike, Looks good. I made some small changes, just to make it a little easier to read. A few thoughts below (I tracked everything on the attached so you can accept/reject at will). Also, I know nothing about Spain, so take it all with a grain of salt. -One of the reasons our business innovation/growth will always be better than places like China is because of the system we have in place: small business loans, R&D tax credits, intellectual prop protection, etc. You start to make that argument when talking about China (Casey and I were just talking about this the other day), so I added in the examples. It's also a nice reminder of why those who predict China is about to own us are wrong. -I edited out the first part of the Trump example (substituted Sanford holding his unemployed hostage), but kept the second reference to remind them of how ridiculous the dialogue can become, and b/c it's hot right now. I don't think the Trump stuff was a good example of legitimate disagreement (which you say in the next paragraph) -the Walker/Scott/Christie stuff is strong, just need a transition back to the conclusion of your speech; right now it's a little abrupt (page 9). I will take a stab at one in the morning. -at the conclusion, you might think about making a goose/gander argument. The business community needs a little less Reagan/individualistic, and a little more community-minded approach. The world is flat. Look at what happened: a (big) few acted very badly, in the name of the almighty dollar, and it took them all down (until we bailed them out, which won't happen again). No one's asking them to profit-share. But some responsible acting is in store. That -- combined with the unrivaled business-friendly community the US provides and this speech lays out -- will mean more stability and, in the long run, more profits. I think that's the point you're hinting at in the end of the speech, though I could be reading it wrong. I think that's it, I'll take another look in the am. Call anytime if you want to discuss.
