Last week, we found out that I had two potential 2020 opponents after just a few weeks in Congress. Now according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution... they're all coming out of the woodwork for a shot at taking on Team Lucy in 2020:
" You know that state Sen. Brandon Beach, R-Alpharetta, has already announced his intention to challenge U.S. Rep. Lucy McBath in 2020. And you know that Republican Karen Handel is also considering a bid to reclaim her Sixth District seat. This could turn into a crowded GOP primary, because even more names are beginning to surface. Among them: Former state Sen. Judson Hill of Marietta, Fulton County Commissioner Liz Hausmann and Alpharetta City Councilman Ben Burnett."

And as if five potential opponents heading into 2020 wasn't enough of a distraction while I'm trying to pass universal background checks and hold firm on border security negotiations in Congress, the NRCC (National Republican Congressional Committee) has already begun to sling mud in my direction.
They've attacked me on Twitter. They've put up not one [https://www.nrcc.org/2019/01/24/mcbath-says-no-paychecks-dhs/] , not two [https://www.nrcc.org/2019/01/23/lucy-mcbath-let-eat-cake/] , not even 3 [https://www.nrcc.org/2019/01/23/will-lucy-mcbath-denounce-rep-omar/] , 4 [https://www.nrcc.org/2019/01/22/will-mcbath-go-full-radical/] , 5 [https://www.nrcc.org/2019/01/17/mcbath-votes-paying-federal-workers/] , 6 [https://www.nrcc.org/2019/01/07/day-five-5/] , 7 [https://www.nrcc.org/2019/01/04/tell-us-really-feel-lucy/] , or EIGHT [https://www.nrcc.org/2019/01/28/put-up-or-shut-up-12/] , but NINE [https://www.nrcc.org/2019/01/29/just-tried-calling/] separate posts on their website attacking me , spouting lies and mistruths. The NRCC has personally blamed me (!) for the shutdown, called me a fraud, and condescendingly asked me to "tell voters how I really feel..."
Folks, it's only January of 2019. Imagine how bad this is going to get over the next two years. And as a matter of fact, I'm feeling pretty fired up to defend this seat from my Republican challengers and their NRCC backers. Are you with me?
