The highspeed rail conference (IV International Conference of Engineering
for High Speed), sponsored by Fundacion Caminos de Hierro, is being held on
the 16th, 17th and 18th of June (end of this week) in Cordoba. Stephen
Gardner, Vice President of Policy and Development at Amtrak, is
participating in a panel on Thursday (17th) afternoon. Josu Villar Elorza
(Chief Engineer), looks to be the representative from CAF who is
participating in a panel on Friday. The complete agenda for the Conference
is attached.

Pio, we were able to arrange for a tour of their facilities after lunch –
the tour focuses on the University’s Composite Center, appealing as it is
the type of model they will use for developing the new industrial park
(Chrysler Plant) and includes relevant research on new materials. Please
