Hi Hunt, I hope this e-mail finds you well and that you are enjoying this hot summer so far. I was hoping I could ask you a favor on behalf of a classmate of ours from Wilmington Friends School. To make a very long story short, Jeremy Meyer and his wife Rebecca Compton are currently in Kazakhstan (they have been there since the middle of December) trying to adopt a little boy with whom they have been bonding since December 30th. They are in the middle of an international adoption debocle that has yet to be resolved. Their petition to adopt has been denied by the lower Kaz courts, and they fear that their appeal will be denied as has the family's in line before them. Now, they are playing a waiting game, using up all of their life's savings, not to mention their patience. They already love this little boy as their own and are saddened by the way these orphans are being treated by the Kaz judicial system. For the full story, check out their blog: http://bjadoption.wordpress.com/ Anyway, my favor is kind of strange one. We (all of Becky and Jeremy's friends and family) are trying to contact every influencial person we might know to help them speed up this process and get them and their little boy, Noah, home. I instantly thought of you and and your father. I was hoping that you could tell him about Jeremy and Becky's story. I don't know what he will (or can) do... but I have been grasping at straws trying to help them out from here. If you need any more information, don't hesitate to call/e-mail me. ( bethLP12@comcast.net or cell - 215-681-6244) ...or you could go straight to the source --- I've copied Jeremy on this e-mail and you can contact him at upyernoz@comcast.net . Something has to be done and my heart goes out to them from one adoptive parent to another. Thanks in advance for your help! Beth Lubaroff Pfeifer
